Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement for a Space Physics Interactive Data Resource (SPIDR) Application Site Usability Study and Test Plan Generation. The Goals are as follows: 1) Create diagram of current information architecture (site map) for SPIDR. 2) Create a plan for and conduct a usability study to determine how transparent/friendly is the interface and why? 3) Deliver suggested changes to interface and information architecture based on usability study. 4) Develop a test matrix based on the information architecture. 5) Provide documentation of common tests to verify cross-browser support. 6) Provide a list of specific tests to run for each subsystem (High Level). The Individual Tasks are as follows: 1) General Information Required: a) Identify designated application expert from NOAA. b) Identify typical end-user demographic and level of knowledge. 2) Information Architecture: a) Evaluate current content. b) Use preliminary content to produce preliminary diagram of information architecture. c) Deliver preliminary diagram of information architecture Integrate feedback. d) Finalize diagram of information architecture. 3) Usability Study: a) Develop plan for usability study based suspected trouble areas for first time users and return users. b) Develop criteria for selecting test users, browsers and hardware Select test users. c) Conduct usability testing. d) Compile feedback from test users in easy to understand page by page format. e) Deliver feedback. f) Deliver suggested changes to interface and information architecture based on usability study. 4) Test Plan and Matrix: a) Create a test plan that includes a list of generic tasks to be executed for each page and a high-level list of specific tests and expected results for application functionality. b) Create a report with each page of the information architecture listed with associated Pass/Fail and defined severity levels and current bug listings. List any high-level specific application tests to be performed as well. c) Create a bug reporting system for testing. 5) Deliverables: a) Diagram of current information architecture (site map). b) Plan for usability study. c) Criteria for selecting test users. d) Feedback from test users in easy to understand page by page format. e) Suggested changes to interface and information architecture based on usability study. f) Test Matrix. g) Test Plan. h) Bug Report Form. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100K). The award decision will be based on Best Value to the Government with technical merit and past performance being significantly more important than price. Interested sources must submit a proposal by close of business July 18, 2003. Proposals submitted must clearly establish the capability to meet the above requirement.
