Description

This project is located on the High Sierra Ranger District of the Sierra National Forest. The contractor will need to create one new fuel break and expand three others. All the work is to be done by hand probably using chain saws. There are four areas to be worked. Three are in the Shaver Springs area, and one, the Vincent, is in Blue Canyon. The contractor is to cut brush leaving a bush or tree about every 20 ft. The slash is to be piled. The piles are to be covered with a piece of waterproof paper. The project area is approx. 472 acres. Contract time: Approx. 67 days. Start work date: Approx. Sept 2003. WHEN SOLICITATION IS PREPARED IT WILL BE POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS AND AVAIL. FOR VENDORS TO DOWNLOAD.
