Description
NAVAIR-AD Contracting Officer (AIR-2.5.1.4) is hosting an Industry Day Conference on 1 July 2003 at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Bldg. 2189, Room 120 to discuss various current and upcoming contracting opportunities in support of the AIR-4.5 Avionics Systems Division. The conference is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. EDT and conclude by 12:00 p.m. EDT. The purpose of this Industry Day is to disseminate information to the contractor community and receive feedback regarding acquisition strategies/philosophies which affect current and upcoming (i.e. to be released) solicitations including Multiple Award Contracts, Performance Based Work Statements, Level of Confidence Assessment Rating (LOCAR) Source Selections, Small Business participation, Acquisition of Services, and Broad Agency Announcements that support AIR 4.5. Even though the issues to be discussed effect numerous current solicitations, this meeting is not intended to be a pre-proposal conference for any specific solicitation, but rather a general exchange of relevant information on procurement issues. Notification of intent to participate and Inquiries may be directed to Mr. Greg Blew at blewgt@navair.navy.mil. Each firm will be allowed four (4) attendees, including a contracts/business manager/representative. All parties interested in attending the Industry Day Conference must send the required notification no later than 26 June 2003. Following the NAVAIR presentations and exchanges of views, the industrial participants are invited to submit comments, suggestions, or questions (although not to be directed towards any specifically identified RFP). (Note ? Questions regarding any specific RFP?s should be submitted to the appropriate contract specialist identified in the respective RFP. However, such responses will not be considered an exchange with regard to the industry day conference. Specific RFP questions will be answered by amendment to the respective solicitation.) Non?RFP specific industry day conference submissions may be made in any written form and transmitted by means of: (1) regular mail to: Department of the Navy, Contacts 2.5 Bldg 588-Ste 2, NAVAIR AD, 47253 Whalen Road-Unit 6, Patuxent River, MD 20670-1161, (2) fax to: 301-757-0200, or (3) email to: blewgt@navair.navy.mil. Offerors shall also identify their business size and status (i.e. large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HubZone, etc.) if submitting a (non-RFP specific) comment, question, or concern in response to the industry day conference. All non?RFP specific industry day conference submissions must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. EDT on 11 July 2003. Directions to the Conference are as follows: From Richmond Take 95 North to Bowling Green, then U.S. 301 North through Dahlgren and over the Potomac River (Governor Nice) Bridge. There is no north bound toll. Once in Maryland, proceed to the second light and turn right onto Rt. 234. Follow Rt. 234 to Rt. 5 and turn right to Leonardtown. Once in Leonardtown. Proceed straight through the light and turn left on to St. Andrews Church Rd. (Rt 4) to the Rt. 235 intersection. Turn right onto Rt. 235 into Lexington Park past gate #1 of the NAS. Proceed just beyond gate #2 of the Naval Air Station and make a left approximately .10 mile after gate #2 into the parking lot of the Frank Knox Bldg #2189. From Washington Take 95 to exit 7A (Waldorf) and Proceed south on Rt. 5 through Clinton and the 301/5 merge to Rt. 205 (Mattawoman-Beantown Rd.) then turn left. Go to the end of Rt. 205 and turn left at the light, putting you back on Rt. 5, heading south. If you miss Rt. 205, continue on Rt. 5 for two more miles and turn left at the center of the Waldorf commercial area, which will eventually put you at the same point. However, the Rt. 205 cutover eliminates several traffic signals. Proceed south on. Rt. 5, which south of Mechanicsville becomes Rt. 235 and will bring you straight into Lexington Park past gate #1 of the NAS. Proceed just beyond gate #2 of the Naval Air Station and make a left approximately .10 mile after gate #2 into the parking lot of the Frank Knox Bldg #2189.
