Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for a qualified contractor to provide 108 Microfilm readers that are brand name or equal to the Eyecom model VXL-16 with a 35X lens and large hood. In addition to the readers, SSA is requesting installation of the readers, on site training and 40 additional 16mm Eyecom lamps. This acquisition is being conducted under Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) regarding the acquisition of commercial items and Part 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. SSA anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract that meets the government technical specifications with staggered delivery dates. The request for quotation will be issued under solicitation number SSA-RFQ-03-0424 which is scheduled for release on June 11, 2003. All responses must be submitted no later than 2:00 p.m. on July 11, 2003. This acquisition is a 100% total small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 333315. The standard size is 500 employees. Offer received from other than small business will be deemed unacceptable and given no further consideration. The solicitation and specifications for this procurement will be made available to interested parties through electronic media for downloading via the internet at the FedBizopps website http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Potential offerors shall be responsible for monitoring the internet site for release of the solicitation and amendments (if any) and responses to any questions submitted in accordance with the solicitation provisions. There are no written solicitation documents available. Telephone requests will not be honored and no bidders list will be maintained.
