Description
NASA/GRC has a requirement for a Kaman Instrumentation 10 chnl. 1000 deg. F KD-1925 displacement sensor system which MUST interface with an existing government owned Kaman sensor system. Item No. 1 - Qty: 10 - KD-1925 Sensor with 1 inch body, 3ft hard cable, 15 ft soft cable, calibration to Inconel 718 target, range: 50 mils, offset: 5 mils, output 0 to 2 VDC, calibrated at ambient and 1000 deg F. Item No. 2 - Qty: 10 - KDM 8000 1925 NM, Setup and calibrated with Item No. 1 as one master and seven slaves. Item No. 3 - Qty: 1 - Subrack KDM8000 no display meter, wired for 8 channels, set up and calibrated with items 1 & 2. Item No. 4 - Qty: 1 - Sensor housing body modification NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Kaman Aerospace Corporation Measuring and Memory Systems. The sensors MUST interface with the existing Kaman Instrumentation sensor system in the test facility. The sensors must maintain their sensitivity and lineararity with no Vdc. shift from room temperature up to 1100 F. The sensors must be compatible to a Inconel 718 curve target surface and be non-contact. The sensors must also operate co-located by conduction heaters and an electromagnetic bearing without being susceptible to EMI interference. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) in FAR Part 13. The Sole Source is under the authority of FAR reference: 13.106-1(b)(1). Organizations that believe they are capable of performing the described work may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on June 20, 2003. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. THIS IS NOT A COMPETITIVE ANNOUNCEMENT -- IT IS A SOLE SOURCE ANNOUNCEMENT. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
