- Description
- Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound intends to procure the following for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard: One wet abrasive blast cabinet system with FOB Destination shipping. The cabinet will be a floor mounted system capable of blasting contaminated work pieces to a clean white, shiny metal finish. The cabinet must meet the following requirements: Maximum Size Work Piece ? Dimensions ? 36x36x36 inches, Weight - 2000 lbs, Minimum Slurry Flow - 150 GPM, Minimum Cleaning Pressure - 100 PSIG, Blast Media - Water/Glass Bead, Work Piece Loading System - 360 degree rotating table, Work Piece Material ? Corrosion resistant coatings on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cabinet will have the following minimum features: sealed containment area that prevents blast slurry from escaping from the cabinet, lined with rubber curtains for abrasion resistance, include a lighting system to illuminate the entire inside work area, include a window and wiper system so operators have an unabated view of the work piece during operation, include a work piece handling system that allows work pieces to be loaded and unloaded with government owned overhead lifts and floor lifts. The work piece handling system will include a work piece loading area outside the cabinet that includes a drip pan to collect excess fluid in the load area, a powered trolley for moving the work pieces in and out of the cabinet, and allow the operator to rotate the work piece 360 degrees during blasting operations without opening the containment area. The contractor will also be responsible for: preparation of the work-site; designing, manufacturing, testing and grooming all equipment required to provide the cabinet; assembly and installation of the cabinet; complete documentation of all technical data which applies to the installation, operation, maintenance, repair and testing of the cabinet; and provide training to government personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of the installed cabinet and its components. The cabinet will be installed in an industrial manufacturing building having limited space. The cabinet and all components must fit within the following site dimensions: Maximum Overall System Length - 25 feet (left to right), Maximum Overall System Width - 15 feet (front to back), Maximum Overall System Height - 13 feet (above floor level).
