Description
The contractor shall provide all, labor, materials, transportation, equipment, tools, supervision, and management efforts necessary to convert existing boilers, furnaces, unit heaters, and hot-water heaters from propane or oil to natural gas, and replacement in kind of electrical hot water heaters where necessary. Also included is all related demolition and provision of new hot-water heaters where indicated in the specification. The conversion project involves 8 buildings. The existing equipment for six of the buildings is propane. One building is oil and propane and the remaining building is oil and electric. The contractor shall provide all applicable electrical work and controls where required, provide all equipment calibration, and provide a general modification manual with a dedicated section for each building. The manual should include all field data obtained by the contractor for the conversion work, conversion kits data, controls data, calibration data, submittals, necessary maintenance, and pertinent information related to conversion work. All existing heating equipment is fueled with propane gas, oil, or electric. All existing gas-fuel-lines, regulators, and controls of propane equipment are applicable only for the propane fuel. Some of the existing piping might be reused. The location of the work is the Naval Air Engineering Station, Lakehurst, New Jersey. This contract will be a Firm Fixed Price contract. The NAICS Code is 234990 and has a Small Business Size Standard of $17.0 million. This Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued as 100% HUBZONE Set Aside. THIS SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The approximate solicitation release date is June 26, 2003. The solicitation will be available in electronic format only. Notification of any changes to this solicitation (Amendments) shall be made only on the Internet.
