- Description
- Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ F-14 Program intends to place a sole-source contract with B.E Wallace Products Corp. Frazer, PA 19355. The F-14 Program has a requirement for the following: Qty (3) heavy duty 3-ton adjustable steel ?A? frame type hoists p/n-S6T-1520SC, qty (3) heavy duty 3-ton hand chain hoist p/n-CMCHH061311W, qty (3) 3-ton push trolley p/n 70-3815. The contract will also require: a qty (3) 5ft of extra hand chain and qty (3) load test certifications. The 3-ton adjustable ?A? frame type portable crane is required to lift/move the F414 turbofan engine or engine modules within the engine shop at NAF Atsugi, Japan. The crane requires specific load capacity and adjustable span, height and tread capability to be compatible with building height and shop layout restrictions. B.E Wallace Products is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the 3-ton Crane, model S6T15-20SC, the 3-ton heavy-duty hand chain hoist, and 3-ton Trolley that can meet the above requirements. B.E Wallace Products owns the technical drawings, specifications, and data rights for the above items. The technical drawings are required to identify the dimensions, materials used and performance limits. The Government does not own specifications or drawings for the above listed parts. At this time, B.E Wallace is the only known source with the knowledge, experience and technical data necessary to provide the required items. NAWCADLKE intends to procure these items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c ) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit proposals, which may or may not be used by the Government in determining whether or not to open this requirement to competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
