Description
NA This Contract consists of maintenance dredging within the project channel at various locations: from Station 0+000 to Station 122+778 to a required 42 feet MLW plus 1 foot allowable overdepth, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for along both chann el edges (box cut); from Station 122+778 to Station 125+500 to a required depth of 24 feet MLW plus 1 foot allowable overdepth, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for along both channel edges (box cut); between Station 142+000 and Station 144+675 t o a required depth of 22 feet MLW plus 1 foot allowable overdepth, with dredging limits extended 25 feet outside both channel edges (box cut); and Fairless Turning Basin (Station 0+000 to Station 0+800) to a depth of 35 feet MLW plus 1 foot allowable over depth, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for along the basin??????s east/west berthing lane edges and the west channel edge of Newbold Range (box cut). Dredging will also be required to a distance of 25 feet outside the three remaining edges of t he turning basin, with no side slopes delineated and/or paid for. Total estimated dredging yardage including allowable overdepth is 943,433 cubic yards. Dredging under this advertisement will be open to the following type of dredges: plant pipeline, hopp er and bucket. The fabrication of timber and steel sluice gates and construction of five containment areas (dikes) is also included under this contract. The following containment areas will be available for this contract: Area No. 4, Palmyra, New Jersey; Area No. 12 (Hawk Island), Delanco, New Jersey; Area 22B (Burlington Island), Burlington, New Jersey; Area No. 26 (Money Island), Falls Township, Pennsylvania; and Area No. 28 (Biles Island), Falls Township, Pennsylvania. The Invitation For Bid Number (I FB) DACW61-03-B-0008 will be available on the Internet Web pages on or about 27 June 2003. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors shall download this IFB (including drawings) and all amendments from t he Internet web page at the following address: https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil on or after the issue date of the IFB. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the Internet Web Page. All amendments to this IFB will be posted to the Internet web pa ge at the above address. Hard copies will not be furnished. It is the contractors responsibility to monitor the web page for any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web page. If any of the contractors information changes du ring the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet Web Page. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause a delay in receiving notification of the IFB and Amendments. Contractors ar e responsible for printing copies of the IFB and any amendments. Proposals will be due on 29 July 2003. The NAICS code is 237990 with a size standard of $17.0. The estimated cost range for this procurement is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Bonding is requir ed.
