Description
NA The US Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, in support of the U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command (USA SBCCOM), intends to conduct negotiations and award a purchase order to Idaho Technology Incorporated, 390 Wa kara Way, Salt Lake City, UT, on the basis of other than full and open competition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation part 6.302-1. The NAICS Code is 339111. The standard business size is 500. This procurement is for the acquisition of on e each Ruggedized Advanced Pathogen Identification Device (R.A.P.I.D.) System. Idaho Technologies is the sole producer and supplier of the R.A.P.I.D. system which was developed for the military under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) P rogram. This system is used to conduct confirmation studies of field samples (to include military food) that have been screened to potentially contain biological pathogens. The system will be tested with a number of food materials to determine levels of sensitivity in different food matrices prior to use in a field operation. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. However, the Government will consider all quotations received within three (3) days after date of publication of this announcement. A determi nation by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive pro curement. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the U. S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, ATTN: AMSSB-ACC-NS/Peggy Dube, Natick, MA 01760-5011 no later than 5: 00 p.m. EST on 17 June 2003.
