Description
AETC CONS is searching for sources who can provide a computerized scoring system that detects shots fired and provides immediate feedback to the instructor and trainee with respect to their target, and records and compiles statistical data with printout capability. The programmable system may be used in galleries or open-air ranges with varying distance capability. The system must be durable equipment for outdoor ranges with heavy use. Specific contract requirements are as follows: (Required attributes) System must be able to score the current M16A2 Air Force Qualification Course (AFQC). - Zeroing Phase - Practice Phase - Qualification Phase System must have computer controlled targets. System must be able to detect shots fired over the target area to include two meters minimum to the left, right, up and down for shots missing target. System must transmit shot data immediately to a remote monitor at the firing point and also to that range?s control computer. System must be capable of recording and printing statistical data including a final score card in the form of an Air Force Form 710. System must operate in weather conditions with 25 degrees to 120 degrees Fahrenheit and be waterproof. Targets must conform to use of frangible ammunition without a decrease in shot accuracy detection. System must provide required functions without weapon modifications (no tethers or wires which would limit trainee movement). System must be for LIVE fire utilizing M193 ammo vs. laser using black ammo. One-year maintenance and support (during test period) is required; a minimum of one-year warranty on equipment and parts is required. One week of training to seven instructors must be provided. Number of systems: 22 ? 25. (Desired Attributes) System should provide sighting corrections after each relay. System should be upgradeable/expandable to incorporate multiple targets at varying distances for other courses of fire in the future. System maintenance should be performed within a four-hour period of notification of problem and provided free of charge within the first year of service. Other Relevant Data: The current M-16A2 AFQC allows 16 rounds to zero the rifle. The student fires one four-round volley and four three-round volleys. After each volley, the student and instructor must walk down range and examine the target. More time is then allowed for students to make sight corrections. The goal of prototyping a computerized system is to provide greater safety, speed up the zero process for each firing point and to allow instructors to make additional corrections during the qualification process.
