- Description
- R-The Aberdeen Area IHS is soliciting for a contractor to provide coding, data entry, and third party billing services under a data integrity project for the Cheyenne River Service Unit in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, in promoting compliance with applicable third party reimbursement laws, policies and regulations. Specifically, the coding, data entry, and third party billing services will be guided by federal regulations and will provide baseline data in which the Cheyenne River Service Unit will ensure coding, data entry, and billing compliance. The contractor will perform off-site Coding and Data Entry for the Eagle Butte Service Unit. However, the Contractor amy be required to come on-site to follow-up on high volume deficiencies that the service unit cannot complete. The process will be monitored by the service unit medical record department to ensure compliance with IHS regulations, CMS compliance, and JCAHO guiedlines. The Contractor shall review and approve the service units billable claims. The Eagle Butte service unit will export all Medicare Part A and Medicaid files and mail all private insurance claims. The Contractor shall furnish sufficient personnel to ensure that qualified individuals provide the services described in the statement of work. The Contractor shall be required to possess familiarity with CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS. DRG, Aberdeen Area Chargemaster, and other coding systems; Medicare and Medicaid coding guidelines; documentation, coding and billing compliance issues; AAIHS Patient Care Component (PCC)data entry system, and IHS Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) Third Party Billing software application used to generate third party claims. The Aberdeen Area Office anticipates the award of a performance based service contract to a qualified Buy-Indian Act certified Indian owned contractor. The period of performance will be from September 30, 2003 to September 29, 2004.
