Description
WATERPROOFING AND PARTIAL RE-ROOF OF BEAUFORT FEDERAL COURTHOUSE, BEAUFORT, SC The purpose of this amendment is as follows: 1. Change the bid due date from June 10, 2003 to June 12, 2003 by 4:00 PM DST. 2. Scope of work clarifications (see below) LOWER ROOF QUESTION: What is the warranty on the built-up roof? ANSWER: The warranty is a 20 year. QUESTION: Clarify how the flashing is to be attached to the EIFS material. ANSWER: Cut the existing EIFS material to allow for the height of the new tapered insulation. Install new wall flashing behind the EIFS material and repair the bottom of the cut EIFS material. Caulk joints between EIFS material and the Flashing. ** Delete wire brushing of the roof drains and gutters from the specification and add sealing behind all scuppers. ** Delete the need for exterior stairway from the specification. UPPER ROOF QUESTION: What is the span of the elastomeric coating? ANSWER: The elastomeric coating must span over the top of the parapet wall down to the first groove. QUESTION: More detail is needed concerning the repair of the corner. ANSWER: Contractor will be held responsible for repair of the corner as identified in the scope of work. Which calls for the removal of the old patching and replace with materials that match, in appearance, with the existing building facade. QUESTION: Does the metal drip-edge need to be removed and replaced? ANSWER: Yes, the metal drip-edge around the small roof must be removed and replaced with new to match the existing.
