Description
Provide comprehensive occupational and environmental health services to include and array of comprehensive occupational health services in the medical, clinical, employee assistance, industrial nygiene, fitness, environmental, and other disciplines. A qualified medical-physician who has extensive general knowledge of the medical requirements of law enforcement jobs shall provide expert review and analysis of the results of medical examinations and determine medical qualification of applicants and incumbents and, if requested, clearance for physical fitness testing, consult with other specialists in their given area of expertise. Technical assistance in areas such as up to date and complete medical and technical assistance in areas such as updating the medical guidelines and examination forms, requests for job accommodations, Fitness For Duty requests, return to work issues and expert review and analysis of medical documentation and other specific pertinent requests as the need arises. Provide medical guidance regarding new and experimental equipment and procedures and will conduct research and analysis as requested in medical and occupational health areas, e.g. policy development, worker's compensation, disability retirement, appeals, lawsuites and EEOC cases. Insure individual accountability and provides a mechanism for a uniform and consistent application of medical decisions and policies. Provide a list of approved facilities to complete medical examinations, and provide medical review, within 30 days of exam. Maintain electronic and physical medical record storage and medical consultation for pre-placement, seasonal ind incumbent law enforcement employees for the Deparetment of Interior/National Park Service.
