- Description
- Air transportation services. Rotary-wing aircraft capable of carrying three and five passengers with baggage and equipment and fixed-wing aircraft capable of carrying four and eight passengers with baggage and equipment between Ventura County airports and various points in southern California. Rotary-wing aircraft capable of carrying up to 500-pound objects from the open sea back to Point Mugu, CA. Estimated flying hours are 150 each for the fixed-wing aircraft, 100 hours for the smaller rotary-wing aircraft, 500 hours for the larger rotary-wing aircraft, and 120 hours for the rotary-wing aircraft carrying an external load. Historical data from the past 12 months shows the following hours were flown: small rotary-wing craft-48 hours, large rotary-wing craft-462 hours, recovery rotary-wing craft-88 hours, small fixed-wing craft-96 hours, large fixed-wing craft-77 hours. The period of performance is 1 Oct 03 through 30 Sep 04. There are two, 12-month option periods. Date for receipt of offers for the fixed-priced solicitation will be on or about 5 Jun 03 with an anticipated award date (if already a DOD approved carrier) of 18 Jul 03. An offeror must be a Federal Aviation Administration Part 135 air carrier. To be awarded a contract under this solicitation, prospective offerors must satisfy all DOD Commercial Air Carrier Quality and Safety Requirements as described in 32 CFR, Part 861.3.
