Public Notice June 6, 2003 Procurement Office: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Headquarters Procurement Operations Division Administrative Contracts Service Center (3803R) 1200 Pennsylvania Ave, NW Washington, D.C. 20460 Title: Service contract for ICP-OES simultaneous spectrometer. Response Date: June 20, 2003 Notice of Intent to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) of FAR Part 13 to Thermo Electron Corporation. The National Enforcement Investigations Center has a requirement for Thermo Electron Corporation to provide service contract coverage for an ICP-OES simultaneous spectrometer: Thermo Jarrell Ash IRIS Advantage (IRIS-AP-HR-DV), serial #7904. Under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, the Government may award based on sole source if only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency needs. A determination not to compete this proposed purchase order has been made because Thermo Electron Corporation is the only contractor who can properly service Thermo Elemental hardware. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION.
