Description

The United States Mint (Mint) is preparing for a competitive procurement leading to a contract award for financial auditing services. The contract will be a task order, performance based services contract for a period of up to 5 years (the base period of the contract is 1 year with 4 options of 1 year each). As a prequalification requirement, only firms or individuals licensed to practice as Certified Public Accountants may participate in this competitive procurement. A thorough knowledge of federal government auditing practices and procedures will be a significant evaluation factor. A PRE-SOLICITATION CONFERENCE to discuss general aspects of the procurement has been scheduled for MONDAY, JUNE 23, 2003, at 1:30 P.M. at the Mint?s headquarters facility, 801 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC (2nd floor). The meeting is open to all interested parties; however, ATTENDEES MUST PRE-REGISTER IN ORDER TO ATTEND. Pre-registration must be completed NOT LATER THAN FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 2003. To pre-register, send your request by email to: Richard S. Kahn, Contracting Officer, at richard.kahn@usmint.treas.gov AND SEND A COPY of the email to: Dawn DiGiorgio at dawn.digiorgio@usmint.treas.gov not later than Thursday, June 19, 2003. The Mint is not responsible for receipt of transmitted emails. ? Each request must include the name and position of each person attending. If the individual is not an employee of the organization, that person?s correct employer must be identified. ? There is a limit of 5 persons for each organization attending. ? Registered attendees MUST bring a picture identification in order to gain entrance to the building. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO ATTEND THE PRE-SOLICITAITON CONFERENCE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION. Organizations not interested in attending the Pre-Solicitation Conference may receive a copy of the Solicitation by sending an email to the Contracting Officer at the above email address. The Solicitation will not be available for release until July 15, 2003. Any request for a copy of the Solicitation must be received not later than July 31, 2003. Please note: in accordance with 31 U.S.C. ? 5136, no provisions of law governing procurement or public contracts are applicable to the procurement of goods or services necessary for carrying out Mint programs and operations.
