Description
NA The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command is seeking possible sources to perform the operations and maintenance (O&M) support of the equipment and systems at the High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility (HELSTF), White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. The anticipated effort will be for a period of performance of two years with three one-year options. The task consists of the O&M of high energy lasers (HEL), high resolution beam directors, indoor and open-air HEL test cells and associated support system s. Skills required include but are not limited to: HEL operations (including chemical HEL), HEL cooled and uncooled optics support, HEL test and experiment design, laser systems engineering, HEL systems test design, execution and analysis, hazardous materi als handling, environmental engineering, HEL test site safety policies and procedures, data acquisition, reduction and storage and automatic data processing equipment operations and maintenance. The contract will be performed at the HELSTF . Some tests may require contractor personnel at remote sites. Due to uneven test schedules, the contractor should have the ability to provide qualified personnel to meet surge requirements. Firms that can meet requirements set forth above are requested to provide a stat ement of capabilities and information demonstrating management and technical experience on similar acquisitions to include experience in HEL and supporting systems. Firms responding should also state their company size and small business status. NAICS Code is 541710 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes o nly, does not constitute an IFB or RFP, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. No solicitation exists at this time; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and will be available at the SMDC Website (http://www.smdc.army.mil/Contracts/Contracts.html). It is the potential offeror's re sponsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any synopsis or solicitation.
