Description
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport has a small business set aside for the provision of two vessels, one for recovery operations and one for Command and Control Operations for torpedo recovery operations north of Maui, HI. Recovery Operations Vessel: The vessel?s primary function is as a recovery platform suing the vessel?s small boat, a rubber/rigid hull inflatable boat with operator outboard. The minimum length for the small boat is 17 feet with a minimum 50 horsepower outboard motor. The Government will supply two extra boat riders. The Contractor?s vessel crane must have a minimum of a 15 foot reach outboard of gunwale, be able to lift up to a minimum of 4,000 lbs., and be capable of moving/reaching all containers stored on board. The contractor shall supply a signalman. The Government will supply a explosive certified/qualified crane operator. The contractor shall load 16 containers, one cradle, a VHF radio and a Knaack box. A four-point tie down system shall secure containers to the deck. Utility Vessel: The contractor shall load one VHF radio, one winch and one box. Performance shall be from Honolulu, HI to operations area off of Maui, HI and return, with a period of performance ending 31 December 2003. At-sea operations are expected to last up to 5 days. The proposed contract action is for services, which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. NAICS: 561990.
