Description
Technical POC: Dr. James C. Brown, CERDEC/NVESD; Contractual POC: Ms.Eileen Bradley (DOI/NBC). The Program Manager for the Advanced UCIR FPA Manufacturing Technology Improvement program will host an unclassified review of the program for interested representatives of Government and industry on Wednesday, 18 June 2003. The briefing will be held from 9:00 to 12:00 in the NVESD S&T Conference Room in building 357, room 240 at Fort Belvoir, VA. Directions, maps, and information on accommodations are available through the NVESD web site: http://www.nvl.army.mil/home.html. The purpose of the UCIR FPA Manufacturing Technology Improvement Program is to addresses the development and refinement of the manufacturing processes for the advanced small pixel uncooled detector and associated calibration and vacuum packaging technologies. The detector and packaging tasks will address the needs for both the 320x240 and 640x480 arrays, with emphasis placed on the 640x480 array. The overall goal is to substantially reduce the cost and improve the availability of these UCIR FPAs for current and future Army applications in order to maintain US warfighter overmatch. These applications include soldier systems such as thermal weapon and man portable sights, unmanned air vehicles and unmanned ground vehicles, missile systems including MRM (TERM) and NetFires and surveillance systems. Ultimate applications of the advanced UCIR FPA technology beyond this BAA are anticipated to lie in systems supporting Future Combat Systems sensor technology and Objective Force sensors. The Program Manager will take questions and encourages input from industry on the program schedule and strategy. Organizations wishing to send representatives should register via e-mail, (preferred) by fax or in writing. The registration point of contact is RDECOM CERDEC Night Vision & Electronic Sensors Directorate Attn: James E. Miller 10221 Burbeck Rd, Suite 430 Ft Belvoir, VA 22060, james.miller@nvl.army.mil. Registration is limited to persons with U.S. citizenship. Registration requests should be received not later than 16 June 2003. Registration will be confirmed by 17 June 2003.
