Description
The US ARMY TACOM-ARDEC is conducting a market survey to seek potential sources for the purchase of an Ultra-Small-Angle-X-ray Scattering (USAXS) system. THe USAXS will measure the structure of nanomaterials over length scales from at least 3 microns down to dimensions smaller than 10 nanmeters. The instrument must have, as a minimum, the following features: 1) Bonse-Hart two crystal geometry (incident beam monochromator and analyzer), with crystal modifications made to reduce surface scattering background and anomalous tranmission. 2)Automated self alignment for run-to-run consistency and to aid non-expert users. 3) Labview software control for automated data collection with the possibility of control through remote internet sites. 4) Encoder readout with closed-loop motor control for 2-theta rotation. 5) Automated filter wheel selection with a saturation algorithm to minimize attenuation adjustments. 6) X-ray video camera for beam visualization during alignment. 7) Automated sample changer with the ability to allow future temperature control on the sample. 8) The system must include a stable support table. Interested firms who feel that they are capable of supplying this type of instrument are invited to indicate their interest by providing specifications, brochures, and/or drawings within two weeks of the date of this notice to US Army TACOM-ARDEC, ATTN: Deepak Kapoor, AMSTA-AR-WEA, Bldg. 1609, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000, email: dkapoor@pica.army.mil. Any technical questions that you may have, the POC is Deepak Kapoor at (973) 724-2596. In addition, please provide the company?s name, address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, size of business (small/large) and country represented. This is a market survey for information only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government. The US Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited.
