- NA Defense Contracting Command-Washington intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for an unrestricted acquisition on behalf of the U.S. Army Research Institute (ARI). This unrestricted acquisition is for a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) type contract. All prospective offerors interested in submitting proposals must have a commerical and government entity code (CAGE Code) and be registered in the Central Contractors Registration (CCR) at www.ccr2000.com or via phone at CCR (888) 352-9333. This contract wi ll provide software and hardware engineering support for ARI??????s Rotary Wing Aviation Research Unit (RWARU) research and development program. The primary function RWARU is research and development of systems, technologies and methodologies for training and enhancing the performance of Army Aviators and Army Aviation Units. The RWARU is located at Fort Rucker, Alabama, the Army??????s Aviation Center. Site Visit will be scheduled. RWARU requires support in the areas of operation and engineering. Thi s contract will provide RWARU with software and hardware engineering support for its research and development program and its research simulation facility, the Simulator Training Research Advanced Testbed for Aviation (STRATA). The core of STRATA is a sui te of flight simulators and support systems that are designed to facilitate research and development of training methodologies, training delivery systems and modeling for materiel acquisition assessment. This effort is focused on five major tasks: ???? Operation and maintenance of existing components of the STRATA facility. ???? Development, acquisition and integration of hardware and software to enhance the capabilities of the STRATA facility ???? Support of behavioral research and development efforts of ARI RWARU ???? Support research and development related to material acquisition efforts of the Army. . Support aviator training at the U. S. Army Aviation Center. Services have been provided under contract numbers MDA903-87-C-0802, DASW01-98-D-0008 and DASW01-03-00030 with the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) and its subcontractor, CAE Inc., of Montreal, Canada. This requirement will include a 12-month base p eriod with 2 option periods of 24 months each. If all options are executed, the period of performance will be 60 months from date of contract award.
