Description

Description of Action: Rhein Main Fuels Contract, Frankfurt, Germany: Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the government intends to issue a modification to the current contract F61521-99-W-5065 for fuel services, written with Pacific Architect & Engineering (PAE) Inc., Los Angeles, CA, for a 15 months only contract extension from 01 Oct 04 through 31 Dec 05, for continued fuels services. Current contract with PAE expires 30 Sep 04 and comprises contractor provided operation and maintenance of fuels facilities, 7 days a week fuel servicing and contingency support services. At this time, it is projected that all air operations will cease on 30 Sep 05 and in the last calendar year quarter ending 31 Dec 05, the final close-down of the facilities and operation will take place, at which time the facilities will be turned over to the Federal Republic of Germany. There is no current indication that the mission will require Rhein Main AB to remain open beyond 31 Dec 05. This action is considered necessary to mitigate mission disruption and avoid unacceptable delays in fulfilling the government?s requirements and in the interests of cost effectiveness, by avoiding substantial duplication of costs to the Government that are not expected to be recovered through competition. For information purposes, no logistics support is provided under this contract.
