- The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is requesting information on potential sources who have the specialized knowledge to perform uncertainty analysis of radiation doses reconstructed for participants of U.S. atmospheric nuclear tests conducted from 1945-1962. The specialized knowledge areas that potential sources are required to have are as follows: a.)general knowledge of DTRA's Nuclear Test Personnel Review (NTPR) program support currently providing dose reconstructions and associated operating procedures; b.) uncertainty analysis techniques using Bayesian inference and Monte-Carlo modeling; c.) preparation of quality control/quality assurance process procedures for dose reconstruction, d.) retrofitting current NTPR program Standard Operating Procedures involving b.) and c.) above, and e.) reviewing dose reconstructions currently underway by DTRA to validate the upper bound uncertainties. A statement of work is currently not available for the rapidly emerging tasks from the requirement to perform such work. This request for potential sources should not be construed as a request for proposal from prospective offerors at this point. There are no costs to be incurred by DTRA for potential sources preparing responses to this announcement.
