- Description
- The Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SOSB), Bath, Maine, on behalf of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY), Kittery, Maine, will solicit proposals for the dry-docking and repair of the barge YC-1378, located at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. This acquisition is a 100% small business set-aside. SOSB anticipates the type of award to be Firm-Fixed price. All work will be performed at the contractors facility. An on-site inspection of the barge by a contractor representative prior to award will be required. Dry-docking plans will be made available to the contractor at the time of the site visit. Award will be made to the lowest-priced technically acceptable offer received. To be technically qualified, a contractor must hold a current MSRA or ABR with the Department of the Navy prior to the date of award, and have a facility capable of safely dry-docking or otherwise lifting the YC-1378. Hull dimensions of the barge are 110' x 35', with a single story metal utility building occupying approximately 80% of available deck space. The tasks required of the contractor include, but are not limited to, hull and deck preservation, replacement of zinc anodes, repairs to stanchions and lifelines, replacement of the exterior shed door and repair of interior false decking (plywood)and replacment of tiles. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor and materials necessary for this overhaul. The contractor will be required to submit a price for the towing of the barge from PNSY to the contractors facility and return. The Navy reserves the option to accept contractor towing, or, deliver and pick-up the YC-1378 using a Navy tugboat.
