Description

NA The U.S. Army Contracting Agency seeks to identify responsible sources to provide and install modular BSL3 Laboratory Units. Units to be of metal construction, installed to be contiguous with existing containment area. This lab will be a turnkey facility after electricity, water, sewage hookup and steam are supplied. Three module setup to allow conduct of training totally segregated from Life Sciences Test Facility (LSTF) projects involving high containment organisms and a dedicated shower facility for s tudents. BL-3 modules will have multipurpose test rooms designed for independent use at either BL-2 or BL-3 containment level. The modules will be designed and constructed as prescribed by the Centers for Disease Control/ National Institutes of Health Gu idelines for Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories, and the Army Biological Defense Safety Program: 32 CFR Parts 626, 627. Work in these areas will include cultivation, assay, and testing with hazardous microorganisms and toxins assigne d to Biosafety level 3 or below. Interested parties should provide a statement of interest on company letterhead to: U.S. Army Contracting Agency, ATTN: SFCA-NR-DW (Rick Jaramillo) Dugway Proving Ground, Utah 84022. The following information shall be included within the statement of i nterest: 1) reference information on previous contracts where BSL3 facilities were provided and installed including the name of the contracting entity, contract number, and point of contact with phone number; and 2) specify whether or not the company is a small business [Size standard for NAICS 332312 Fabricated Structural Metal Manufacturing is 500 employees]. No solicitation document exists for this request for Sources Sought. This notice is for informational purposes only, it is not a request for proposals nor should it be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for any effor t expended into responding to this announcement. Responses must be submitted not later than 4:00 MST, 12 June 2003.
