Description
Synopsis This project was originally advertised on July 26, 2002. Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for District of Columbia Department of Public Works Project BH-4000 (77), Washington, District of Columbia. The project consists of rehabilitation of the D and E Streets bridges over I-395, and adjacent approach roads in Washington, DC. The Bridge rehabilitation consists of deck replacement, bridge painting, and bridge rail improvements. The approaching roadwork consists of pavement rehabilitation, sidewalk reconstruction, street lighting, signal replacement, and other work. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Bid documents are scheduled to be issued on or about June 12, 2003. Bids will be due on or about July 15, 2003. To request a copy of the plans for this project, you must email your request to eflhd.contracts@fhwa.dot.gov. Request must include the solicitation number, project name and number, requesting firm and address, a point of contact and telephone number. Internet address: www.efl.fhwa.dot.gov. All requests for bid documents will be mailed first class. It is strongly recommended that requests for bid documents be received 7 calendar days before bid opening to ensure receipt of requested materials. Requests for 'faxing' or overnight mailing will not be accepted. ATTENTION: Minority, Women?owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) The Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT's Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short?Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000 with interest at the prime rate. PLEASE NOTE For security reasons, individuals requiring access to all government buildings must present a valid photo ID and be escorted to their destination by an employee. Due to new security provisions, all visitors attending bid openings are urged to arrive at least 1 hour prior to scheduled bid opening. All visitors must register with the receptionist in Room 180. An employee will collect the bids and escort visitors to a waiting room. Prior to bid opening, an employee will escort all bidders to the bid opening. Unescorted visitors will be denied entry and no exceptions will be made.
