- Description
- The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Purchase Order on a sole source basis to Gail Vaskis. Mrs. Vaskis has the expert knowledge and ability to deal with financial and congressional issues due to her many years of experience and familiarity with the Agency and with the nature and complexity of this particular work. Mrs. Vaskis has been intimately involved in all facets of FDA budgeting, both from a formulation perspective and an execution function. She has been responsible for representing the agency and resolving complex issues with Congress, their staffs, other federal agency staff and other interested parties on a variety of subject matters. Mrs. Vaskis has familiarity of and has coordinated with senior officials within the FDA; knowledge and abilities that are important to the required duties. In addition Mrs.Vaskis has been instrumental in the development, initiation and recommendation of policies governing the financial programs and processes of FDA. She provides authoritative advice on financial implications involved in proposed and impending legislative and managerial actions. Mrs. Vaskis? subject matter expertise combined with her knowledge of FDA has enabled her to successfully represent the Office of Financial Management in many dealings with Congress, and Managers of other government agencies to accomplish the Agency?s mission. These abilities are unique and cannot be matched on the open market. Mrs. Vaskis is the only one with the skill-set required to meet the FDA?s needs in certain critical areas. Knowledge of specific FDA initiatives and projects is required, which Mrs. Vaskis has. Mrs. Vaskis has specific expertise working with financial and Congressional matters and has been working with these on a day- to-day basis for over 34 years. This is not a request for quotes; however, sources may submit descriptive literature which fully demonstrates their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency.
