- SUBJECT: Human Pipillomavirus (HPV) testing and colposcopy training for HIV microbicide research infrastructure development DESC: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Columbia University to test the Botswana specimens to be collected in the pilot study, to train Botswana technicians in the testing procedures to develop local capacity for future trials, training of local clinicians in the evaluation by colposcopy of women identified in the pilot study with HPV infection and/or abnormal PAP smears. The period of performance will be 12 months from the date of award. The expected award is date September 2, 2003. Columbia University is the only known Contractor with the unique capability, and highly specialized experience required to perform the required services in a timely and scientifically sound manner.
