- Description
- NOAA, Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) requires the following acquisition line item: An Aerodyne Aerosol Mass Spectrometer for sub-micron aerosol sizing and chemical analysis. The contractor shall provide an instrument that: (1) Quantitatively samples (particle collection efficiency of 100%), sizes (aerodynamic particle size measurement with a resolution of 5 to 10 Dacro/ Dacro, FWHM), and chemically analyzes (at a minimum sulfate, nitrate, ammonium, chloride and organic carbon) atmospheric particles in the size range of 60 to 1000 nanometer aerodynamic diameter. (2) Shall provide real-time results with sampling times of less than one minute (sensitivity of at least 0.5 ug/m3). (3) Shall provide adjustable vaporization temperatures from 200C to 1000C and electron impact ionization mass spectrometer detection (unit mass resolution to 340 AMU, scan rate one msec/amu with single ion detection capability). (4) Shall be fully characterized and intercompared with other atmospheric aerosol instruments in the refereed published literature. The instrument must be fully functional, tested and calibrated before deployment. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small business.
