Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Alpha Scientific Electronics of Hayward California, a requirement for a high power supply with a keypad controller for the high temperature Eutectic Blackbody Project. The power supply shall be new and is required to be 100 % compatible with NIST's existing equipment. The power supply is required to have an input voltage of 480 VAC, 3PH. 560Hz, 54 Amps; a maximum output voltage of 30 VDC; a maximum output current of 0-1000 Amps; and a regulation accuracy of plus or minus 0.0005% of the maximum current. The power supply is required to control the temperature of the blackbody whose stability is directed related to the stability of the power supply at these current. The power supply will be controlled using a feedback control loop from the blackbody output. This is required to control the current with a closed-loop control. *** Delivery is required to be F.O.B. destination and is required within 14 weeks after receipt of order. *** The Government anticipates the award of a fixed price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations and no solicitation package will be issued. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. ***
