- Description
- This serves as notification of the Government's intent to exercise an option under Phase II of contract SP0410-01-D-0004 with The Boeing Company. This option aims to demonstrate the SURGE (Supplier Utilization through Responsive Grouped Enterprises) concept for the aircraft machine parts grouping that was submitted under Phase I of the same contract. This option will serve to further test Phase II of the SURGE theory by testing a second set of parts that were grouped by their manufacturing similarities. The machine parts grouping is the second of three Phase II groupings to be tested. The Government reserves the right to exercise an option period to extend the machine parts grouping for one year following the initial one year purchasing period. It is anticipated that the option will be exercised by July 2003.
