Description

The Federal Reserve Board has conducted three major surveys on small business finances, the most recent survey being the SSBF-1998 for financing information in 1998. (See www.federalreserve.gov/boarddocs/surveys/.) The survey contained a wealth of information on small business finance related issues?the uses of various types of financing from such suppliers as banks, finance companies, leasing companies, friends and family, and owners, as well as a firm?s experience in obtaining the most recent loan. The Office of Advocacy is interested in research topics on small business financing utilizing this database. The researchers will develop topics on small business finances using the survey(s) to investigate the availability of financing to special sub-groups of small firms?namely, small minority and/or small women-owned firms. The research should attempt to answer the question regarding the efficient operation of the market(s) such as-- ?whether there existed a financing gap in the credit market(s) for a sub-group of firms in market environment where a multitude of alternative financing sources are available.? NOTE: The Solicitation document will be posted 5/28/03 on FEDBIZOPS. No other documents will be issued. Provide four (4) copies of your price and technical data. The latter is to be packaged separately. THIS IS A 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET A-SIDE.
