- Description
- NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center is hereby soliciting information to identify potential sources for a four to five month task to provide support for an initial design for a Channel Wall Nozzle for the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME). This effort is the first phase of a development and qualification effort of which the ultimate goal is to select the most qualified source to provide Channel-Wall Nozzles for the SSME fleet. Qualified sources are expected to provide summary documentation focusing specifically on the inherent challenges of Channel-Wall Nozzle development. The summary should also demonstrate expertise in technical and program management, possession of necessary facilities and knowledge and experience in the areas of design, fabrication, and testing of large cryogenic liquid rocket engines or engine components for human space flight applications. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offeror?s responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized capabilities to meet the above requirement should submit a capability statement of 10 pages or less indicating the ability to perform all aspects of the effort described herein. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement.
