- Description
- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound (FISCPS) is soliciting for a firm fixed price supply type contract to be negotiated on a sole source basis with JJ McMullen Associated, Inc. for one each TS1 right-hand merge Track Switch Assembly and one each TS2 left-hand merge Track Switch Assembly. The switches will be used in the monorail train track system onboard the USS Essex. There are 17 switches in the system and the above-mentioned contractor manufactured each of them. Thus, due to compatibility issues, Naval Ship Repair Facility Sasebo must procure these two from subject contractor. Place of delivery is Tracy Air Force Base in Tracy, CA. Delivery is desired as soon as possible. The commercial solicitation will be issued on or about 28 May 2003 with a closing date of 11 June 2003. Per FAR 5.203(h), the solicitation closing date has been reduced to 21 days from this announcement. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Proposed contract to be procured using commercial Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12. Electronic submission of proposals/quotes is not available at this time.
