Description
NA The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick, MA hereby gives its notice of intent to award a sole source contract to SFA Frederick Manufacturing Division, Frederick, MD under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), Only One Responsible Source an d No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The procurement of this item from SFA Frederick Manufacturing Division will result in significant resource savings by avoiding unnecessary duplication of research and development, design, t esting and achieve early fielding of the CBL System. The CBL is an integrated system with the capability that allows for performance of all laundry functions (including collection, sorting, folding and distribution). The CBL shall have the capability to p rocess a minimum of 150 pounds of laundry per hour. The CBL shall have the capability to allow for an environmentally protected area for the performance of collection, sorting, folding and distribution of laundry. The CBL shall incorporate a water heater of sufficient capacity to meet the requirements herein. The CBL shall incorporate a water reuse/recycle system capable of reusing a minimum of 25% (objective of 50%) of the wastewater generated during the processing of the laundry. The CBL shall be fabr icated in an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) container (20 FT x 8 FT x 8 FT) to facilitate transport by sea, air, or land. All components shall be storable within the container. The CBL shall be capable of being operated in climatic temperatures of minus 25 to 120 F and in rain and snow conditions. The CBL will be se t up, operated, maintained, and prepared for storage by unit personnel MOS 92S OR 57E (operators) and MOS 63J (maintainers). All components must fit inside the container for transport.
