- This modification to subject solicitation is hereby issued to extend the date of receipt of offers from 16 May 2003 to 21 May 2003. Additionally, the following inoformation is hereby provided for clarification purposes: The fan housing should have an inner wall constructed of perforated steel to provide the most benefit from the insulation or sound absorbing material. Placing the perforated steel on the outside of the fan housing is not acceptable. I understand that the insulation will absorb some VOC's and become hazardous or possibly flammable when the perforated steel is on the inside. That is part of the reason for the requirement in paragraph 3.4.5.3 for the fan belts and pulleys to be encased in a dust-proof , vapor tight housing. This will contain any hazardous or flammable conditions in the fan housing and keep electrical devices such as the motor from being exposed to hazardous or flammable conditions. In addition to the above information, the Special Notice published under Reference Number-F2MAN031000100 dated/posted 12 May 2003 is still applicable to this solcitation.
