- Description
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) has a requirement for five (5) bottom-trawling vessels for day and trip charters to support NEFSC's Cooperative Research yellowtail tagging project in the Gulf of Maine, Cape Cod and Georges Bank areas between June 1 and October 1, 2003. The Contractor(s) shall conduct fishing activity for yellowtail flounder, providing their own trawl net, fishing gear, captain and crew. The vessels must be large enough to provide adequate working space and accommodations for at least two technicians for each cruise as well as a large tub for emptying the net bag to facilitate sorting and tagging of fish by scientists. No portion of the catch will be sold, but trips will be exempted from the "days at sea" program. The Government may elect to award up to five (5) contracts for the same or similar supplies or services to two or more sources under this solicitation. The proposed contract(s) are 100% Small Business Set Aside. Copies of the solicitation will be attached as a downloadable Word file on or about April 17, 2003. Copies of Figure 1 which identify the statistical areas for the Northeast region will only be provided in response to written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor. All responsible parties may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Offers received by May 30, 2003 shall be considered for award. Award will be made on or about June 3, 2003.
