Description

This procurement will develop, integrate and test improved Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) technologies, subsystems, and algorithms for performance improvement on existing reentry systems for TRIDENT II (D5) missile. This effort includes evaluating Global Positioning System Module (GPSM) implementation, post-flight processor capability for Extended Navy Test Bed (ENTB) and Joint Test Assembly Reentry Inertial Measurement Unit (JTA RIMU), Small Reentry Inertial Measurement Unit (SRIMU) support and improvements to the Reentry Systems Application Program (RSAP) and Enhanced Effectiveness (E2) in all areas of GN&C Reentry Body (RB) initialization, alignment, and upgrade. The procurement will contain a base effort with two option years. Pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), negotiations will be conducted with Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc., 555 Technology Square, Cambridge, MA 02139, the only contractor, with the specialized experience, knowledge, and capabilities necessary for contract performance.
