Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Roper Scientific in Trenton, NJ, for the purchase of (1) one Princeton Instruments Digital CCD Camera System, Model Number PI-SX:400 with Model 7375-0004 cryogenically cooled camera head.***Sole source determination is based on the need for this Digital CCD Camera System to be completely compatible and interchangeable with three (3) existing identical systems currently in use at the NIST Physics Laboratory. In addition, NIST requires a dark current specification @ 0.3e/p/h at -120 degrees Celsius and less than 1 e/p/h maximum . This specification is critical in making measurements due to signal noise ratio. Only Princeton Instruments PI-SX:400 system with 7375-0004 cryogenically cooled camera head with liquid nitrogen satisfies all of theses requirements.***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 60 days after receipt of order. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334119, and the size standard is 500 employees.***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by May 27, 2003. ***A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.***Any questions regarding this notice shall be e-mailed to Joni L.
