- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to procure thirteen (13) AN/BSG-1 Weapon Launching Systems and associated pre-cable kits and spares for SSN 774, SSN688, and SSN688I class submarines. In this one-time procurement the Navy will purchase its AN/BSG-1 inventory objective. The AN/BSG-1 is the fire control system for launching the UGM-109A Tomahawk missile. This requirement will be solicited sole source from Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems in Portsmouth, RI. Raytheon, as the prime item developer of the AN/BSG-1, has the unique capability of providing this requirement without substantial start up/learning curve time or the duplicative costs of establishing facilities or different design implementations as well as access to the data which forms the baseline technical data package. Raytheon will use the prototype products , processes and methodologies developed under contract N00024-97-C-6240, which it was competitively awarded in 1997, to manufacture the AN/BSG-1 production hardware.
