- SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE: The 3rd Contracting Squadron at Elmendorf AFB, AK is conducting an 8(a) competitive sourcing study. This is a Sources Sought Notice for solicitation F65501-03-R-0005 to determine 8(a) interest and capability. This is not a formal solicitation. Any formal solicitation will be announced separately. The Air Force reserves the right to set-aside this entire acquisition for 8(a) small businesses. The Contractor tasks include but are not limited to the following: serving and replenishing food, cleaning facilities, equipment, utensils, preparing vegetables and fruits for the salad bar, bussing tables in dining areas, performing cashier services, handling foods, supplies, and equipment, maintaining quality control, ensuring operator maintenance and minor/major repair of food service equipment, and in the event of contingency, perform all required dining facility tasks to include cooking to ensure continued service. Elmendorf AFB food service operation consists of two (2) main dining facilities (Iditarod and Kenai), and two (2) satellite facilities. These facilities are dedicated to providing full meal service and meeting the nutritional needs of Department of Defense (DOD) personnel who frequent the facilities. The Blue Star Inn Flight Kitchen provides boxed meals for passengers and crews in support of flying missions and to customers requesting them in support of ground operations. We anticipate the contract type will be firm-fixed price, 8(a) competitive, under NAICS 722310 with a size standard of $17,500,000.00. The total period of performance will be up to 5 years, structured by a six (6) month basic period and up to four (4) one year option periods to start 1 April 2004. Contractors are asked to submit capability statements expressing interest and intent. If you are an 8(a) small business that performs on contracts under NAICS 722310 and plan on participating in the competition of this acquisition, please provide information relative to past performance and/or experience similar to Mess Attendant contracts. Information should be sufficient to support your capability to perform these requirements and should include detailed references (contract number, dollar value, scope of services and point of contact with their telephone numbers and whether it was a Government or Commercial type contract). State your business size (average number of employees and average annual revenue). Please provide your companies name, address, and point of contact, telephone number and email address. Firms should provide their information via email to TSgt John Lower, Contract Specialist, at John.Lower@elmendorf.af.mil by 19 May 2003. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is mandatory. Based on the information received, an RFP will be issued in the near future on Federal Business Opportunities (www.eps.gov) website. No paper copies will be issued. SOLICITATION IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. It is recommended that all interested contractors register for this solicitation number through EPS to ensure they automatically receive all updated documents to this requirement as they are posted.
