- NAICS Code: 541710 The U.S. EPA, National Center for Environmental Assessment, located in Cincinnati, OH, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Gunther F. Craun and Associates under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 to update and add details to the preliminary report entitled "Methods for Estimating the Enteric Disease Burden Associated with Waterborne Disease Outbreaks." The project entails adding discussions of the use of the waterborne disease outbreak database in estimating disease burden, performing additional pertinent data analyses, and developing a revised report. This notice is not a request for quotations. EPA source research indicates Gunther F. Craun and Associates is the only known contractor with the appropriate level of technical knowledge necessary to complete this project in a timely manner. The original report was developed by Gunther F. Craun and Associates and because of their unique familiarity with the Waterborne Disease Outbreak Data Base, they are the only known contractor capable of completing the requirements within the required time limitations. However, any firm believing itself capable of meeting EPA requirements may submit technical documentation to establish the potential of completing such work. Any such documentation must be submitted within 15 days of electronic posting of this notice (before May 22, 2003 at 5:00 PM EST). A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The applicable NAICS code is 541710. The anticipated award date is June 6, 2003.
