Description
Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area is requesting proposals to supply ready-mix concrete to the Ok-A-Beh site, located approximately 10 miles from Ft. Smith, MT, in Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area. The concrete shall be used on-site to fill voids in the canyon walls and will be pumped to three locations at the Ok-A-Beh site. The maximum distance from the pumping unit to the voids will be approximately 300 feet. A concrete mix design must be submitted for approval and final approval of aggregate size and weight will include acceptance of the mix by the pumping unit for its capabilities. A lighter weight mix than the standards 150#/cu. ft. is preferred but not required. Proposals will be evaluated and award of the material supply be based on the best value for the government. Factors used to determine the best value shall be cost per cubic yard, amount of material deliverable per day, method of delivery (portable plant or truck), and mix design weight per cubic feet. Quality control shall be the responsibility of the supplier and be verified by providing the test result of 6 random cylinder compressive strength reports, at the cost of the supplier, with samples selected by the government. Concrete shall be supplied on indefinite dates and in indefinite quantities per day. It is anticipated the total amount of concrete supplied will be within a range of 516 cubic yards minimum and 967 cubic yards maximum. The delivery days may be as little as 4 days or as much as 20 days, within a time period of 2 weeks to 8 weeks. The amount of concrete required per day could vary from a minimum of 6 cu. yds. to a maximum of 500 cu.yds. If one supplier is unable to provide the required amount per day, the National Park Service shall obtain concrete from additional other best value suppliers to meet delivery requirement for the work project. Proposals shall be based on concrete specifications of: minimum compressive strength of 3000 psi.; maximum aggregate size of 1 inch; maximum weight of 165 pounds per cubic feet; to include fiberglass fibers in the mix; minimum quantity of 516 cubic yards; maximum quantity of 967 cubic yards. All proposals will be evaluated and a single propposal or a combination of proposals may be awarded to meet the requirements of a successful project completion. Cost will be evaluated on cost per cu yd and cost delivered per cubic yard.
