- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA is requesting proposals for one each Spectrophotometer and one each Spectrofluorimeter, each with a computer. This procurement is for the National Ocean Service, Hollings Marine Laboratory located at Charleston, SC. The two pieces of equipment will be used separately and in combination to analyze a broad range of research materials and must have specific features and capabilities. Minimum requirements for the equipment are: 1. Both instruments must have complete stand-alone capabilities, including associated computers and software. 2. The equipment must provide a multi-functional, cross-compatible platform of instrumentation, which will allow full quantitative analysis of molecular samples across a broad range of detection regimes, and sample presentation formats. 3. The spectrophotometer component must be capable of analyzing samples presented as 96-well microtiter plates, 384-well microtiter plates, microcuvettes, and 12x75 mm test tubes. 4. The spectrophotometer must have a spectral range of 190-1000 nanometers tunable to 2 nanometer increments. 5. The spectrophotometer must be able to read a 96-well plate in 6 seconds or less. 6. The spectrofluorimeter component must be equipped with dual monochromators and have a tunable wavelength selection in 1-nanometer increments from 250-850 nanometers without the use of wavelength filters. 7. The spectrofluorimeter must be capable of collecting time resolved fluorescence data over a range of 50-1450 microseconds adjustable at a minimum of 200 microsecond intervals. 8. The spectrofluorimeter must have multifluorophore assay capability, reading up to four wavelength pairs per microplate as well as wavelength scanning for actual spectral range maxima determination. Contract award will be based on the lowest price offer meeting the minimum specifications, using the commercial item acquisition process. The solicitation will be available on or about May 16, 2003. Firms interested in receiving a copy of the solicitation should send a written request to the contracting officer, referencing this announcement number. Requests may be made by fax (816) 426-7530) or e-mail. This action is not set-aside for small business.
