Description: The Devil Creek Fuels Reduction Project is designed to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire and hazardous fuel complex on National Forest land near Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The proposed treatments in this contract include the removal of white fir (Abies concolor) by hand and/or with a machine-mounted shredder/mulcher such as a hydro-ax. The project area contains 104 acres and is located within the Devil Creek Timber Sale, an active sale on the Pagosa District. See numbered note 1.
