- ISSUE DATE: 05/21/03 Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, and disposal necessary to replace timber floats with a concrete float system at USCG Station Castle Hill, Newport, RI (Newport County). The work includes, but is not limited to the removal and disposal of (2) sets of floating docks located at USCG Station Castle Hill. Each set of wood floating docks is approximately 100 feet long and 6 foot wide. Temporarily remove two (2) twenty foot long aluminum gangways and reinstall both upon installation of new concrete floating docks. Fabricate and install ten (10) HP 8 X 36 structural steel sections and (12) each associated pile retainers. Supply and install two (2) sets of new 6 foot wide X 100 foot long (length is approximate) concrete floating docks as shown on the contract drawings. NOTE: Contractor will be limited to working one side of the pier at a time and the maximum allowed barge width is 20 feet. The estimated cost range for this project is $100,000-$250,000. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 05/21/03. The bid opening date is scheduled for 06/23/03. THIS SOLICITATION 100% SET ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS.
