Description
Question. Would like to submit a bid quoting equivalent equipment from an alternate manufacturer as well. Would like to offer additional pricing based on the Thrane & Thrane M-4 Capsat Messenger, which I believe will meet or exceed your current equipment expectations. Question. Are we able to contact the end user? The intent is to verify what capabilities they (the customer) need, technology is an everyday changing environment, and there maybe something out there which is cheaper and better to their application. What we are attempting is to ensure that the customer is satisfied with the product, not find out later that some new hit the street and it's too late. ANSWER. NO ONLY THE NERA M4 WILL BE CONSIDERED Question. Do you require that the IPDS be enabled in the terminal? The M4 is compatible of IPDS but is considered an option. ANSWER. NO Question. Please clarify "Optional fixed mounted antenna for more permanent installation." Is a Fixed Mount Antenna along with the standard terminal to be quoted as part of the requirement. And if so what type of mount. ANSWER. FIXED MOUNT ANTENNA NOT TO BE PART OF QUOTE STANDARD TRI-FOLD ANTENNA ONLY QUESTION. Questio Define SWIF protocol in the Nera M4 World Communicator INMARSAT with SWIF. ANSWER. STUIII QUESTION. Do you mean 2.4MB instead of 2.4NB when referring to "SWIF protocol for 2.4NB channel ISDN compatibility? ANSWER. 4NB (2.4 NARROW BAND CHANNEL) QUESTION. Do you want the equipment capable or enabled for the STU III option? ANSWER. CAPABLE YES USER WILL ENABLE QUESTION. Built-in cordless Phone: Is the customer requiring a separate phone (cordless) for the "Built-in cordless phone base station," which is also shock-absorbent and water resistant or a mobile command box, which is also shock-absorbent and water resistant? The question is what are the customer's desires, a portable mini-TOC (black-box) to carry the M-4, encryption devices, additional phones, etc...in If so, I will need from the customer what functions and/or capabilities they will require form this Black-Box to determine the size, power considerations, equipment, etc... ANSWER. THE NERA CONTAINS A DECT CORDLESS BASE STATION WE WANT THIS BASE STATION CAPABILITY ACTIVE IN THE TERMINIAL. NO BLACK BOXES QUESTION. Antenna Requirements: Is the customer requiring two antenna's: one (1) Being the large panel mount approximately 3' x 3' which can be mobile (carried) and/or fixed mounted (roughed), and one (1) being the mobile trifold antenna (smaller, but not as roughed)? Additional notes, just so the customer is aware that there is a mobile/mobile (2 axial tracking antenna), being that it can be mounted on a moving vehicle. ANSWER. ONLY THE TRI-FOLD ANTENNA THAT COMES WITH THE NERA M4 QUESTION. Tech support/Training: Is the customer requiring training for the Inmarsat M4's? If so, what is the student size and is there additional hardware and/or equipment which will be integrated within the system (M-4) needed to be trained on, which the customer already has i.e computers, STU/STE, encryption devices, secure faxes etc... Where will it be conducted? Ft. Bragg? Contractor facility? ANSWER. TECH SUPPORT - SOMEBODY THAT IS KNOWLEGABLE ON THE NERA M4 AND INMARSAT SERVICE IN GENERAL THAT IS AVAILABLE TO ANSWER TECHNICIAL QUESTIONS REFERENCE OUR USAGE AND INTERFACING A VARIARTY DATA AND VOICE DEVICES QUESTION.
