- The BEP's request for industry comments regarding BEP's plans for future currency production is hereby extended until July 18, 2003. Additional information is provided per the attached MS Word File. Accordingly, vendors are requested to submit available information regarding their current and prototype equipment. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR FIRM PROPOSALS, AND NO CONTRACT AWARD IS PLANNED FROM THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. Information will be viewed by U.S. Government personnel for the purposes of identifying equipment of potential use to the BEP in manufacturing the currency of the United States. Due to security restrictions, there will be little or no opportunity to hold face-to-face meetings at this time. In addition, due to the volume of responses anticipated, it may not be possible to return phone calls prior to the submission of the requested technical information. Therefore, vendors should submit the requested information and the Government will contact vendors with equipment possessing the capabilities needed if further information is needed. Again, this is not a request for firm proposals and no contract award is planned from this request for information. However, the BEP will identify and program funding based in part on information received from this announcement, therefore vendors are encouraged to respond with available information electronically to george.robertson@bep.treas.gov. Vendors are discouraged from hand-delivering materials to the BEP due to security requirements. If materials are hand-delivered, the courier must be instructed to go to the employee entrance of the BEP, contact the procurement office and wait until materials are picked up by procurement personnel. The security police officers will not accept materials from couriers.
