VAMC Memphis intends to award an Architect/Engineering contract for the following: Department Of Veterans Affairs VAMC Memphis Requirements For A/E Services Project 614-308 Space and Privacy Corrections for ER and Admissions VA intends to award an Architect/Engineering Contract for the following: The A/E firm shall provide all necessary architectural and engineering services as required to prepare complete contract drawings, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates, including services throughout construction for the project "Space and Privacy Corrections for ER and Admissions_ at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis TN. STATEMENT OF A/E TASK: The A/E shall furnish all services for a complete design development, construction documents, and construction period services as specified in the subject contract. Necessary site survey work such as verifying record drawings and verifying and analyzing utility systems shall be accomplished in conjunction with preparation of Design Development.The complete site survey work shall include a thorough investigation of existing conditions to accurately document and convey space dimensions for measured drawings, all utilities for and that traverse through affected areas, typical construction type and variations, and finishes. This information provides the necessary base drawings for the Schematic Development phase of Design Development. Asbestos surveys shall identify approximate quantities of ACM in type and location for complete abatement from the general limits of construction. The A/E shall provide cost estimation, project scheduling, bid period and construction period services as further described in the contract. The A/E shall provide bid document preparation in quantities as specified in the contract. VA shall manage the shipping and handling to prospective bidders.The A/E shall provide competent design and construction period services utilizing individuals who are adequately knowledgeable of the various design disciplines including but not limited to architectural and engineering of structural, mechanical, electrical, and special systems as required by the project. Changes in personnel from those who are proposed in the A/E 254 and 255 Standard Form must be approved in writing. The services of an industrial hygienist familiar with asbestos abatement will be utilized in the event that asbestos is found present and would impact the work. The registered individuals who will stamp the completed documents shall accomplish engineering design work. The A/E shall design for a total construction budget of $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 with viable deductive construction alternates. A single award will be made subject to the availability of funds. A/E firms must submit their 254's and 255's to the contracting Officer by 6/2/03- 4:30pm lOCAL TIME. Area of consideration will be restricted to a 200 mile radius of Memphis, TN. All factors listed in the A/E score sheet below should be addressed with the submissions of the 254's and 255's.
